About the Program
The Advanced 3D with SolidWorks Certificate program is designed to intensify a student’s SolidWorks knowledge. This second non-credit certificate program in the SolidWorks series continues with real world projects and lessons that have been broken down into easy and comprehensible steps for the student. Student’s continue to learn the fundamentals of SolidWorks and move to more complex design challenges.
Certificate Requirements
To receive the 3D with SolidWorks Advanced User Certificate, students must successfully complete the Introduction to 3D with SolidWorks, Intermediate 3D with SolidWorks and Advanced 3D with SolidWorks with a minimum final grade of "C". View or register for the 2D/3D CAD Certificate.
Career Potential
SolidWorks is a commonly requested skill throughout Reading, PA, specifically in manufacturing companies. While a portion of the positions require an Engineering Bachelor’s degree plus SolidWorks; other positions including Drafter, Engineering Technician and Commercial and Industrial Designers are also needed.

Meet the Instructor
Mr. Ralph Stock graduated from Exeter High School and then received an associate degree in architectural engineering. He worked for various architectural firms in the Reading, Allentown, and Philadelphia areas for 20 years before becoming a teacher. He worked on projects from single-family homes to multi-story commercial office buildings, schools, hospitals, and manufacturing clean rooms. Mr. Stock started design work on the drafting board and then, in 1988, started computer drafting. He uses AutoCAD, Revit, Inventor, and SolidWorks software, currently teaching AutoCAD, SolidWorks and Revit classes at Penn State Berks. He also teaches high school students at Reading Muhlenberg Career & Technology.
